About Us
ST Teaching UK was founded in May 2015 , by Sammy Turton and Effi Summers in Worthing, UK.
Sammy is a qualified college lecturer but was frustrated by the lack of secure and permanent work in the education sector. He is passionate about teaching and successfully engages all types of students while catering to different learning styles.
Effi has a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Music Business and Management and since graduating, she found that she didn’t like the routine and restrictions imposed by working for someone else and that running her own business was definitely the right route to go down.
Together, they created ST Teaching UK and through this are aiming to revolutionise musical education by planning custom sessions for the individual instead of leafing through the grade books.
Creativity and imagination are important aspects of our personality that sometimes get lost in the traditional education system. To help counteract this, their students are encouraged to ask questions and children’s short attention spans are catered to.
The group sessions are innovative, current and promote a fun, friendly yet professional atmosphere.
Students and schools really responded and the business grew quite quickly! More wonderful teachers who shared company views came on board and the Worthing based team shared their musical wisdom as far and wide as possible.
Then some events changed things dramatically. Sammy & Effi relocated to Denmark and the global pandemic hit, meaning in person lessons were a no go. There was also some fine tuning to ensure the optimal team was in place!
So today, we have a brand new refined ST Teaching UK; We have a solid team of amazing teachers who have a passion for sharing their musical knowledge, building confidence in the students and creating fun lessons which are adapted to each age, ability and learning style. Due to the nature of the current world, all lessons take place online (each teacher has an optimal setup so things run just as smoothly as before) and our teachers are now based far and wide!
Please see our wonderful team of teachers below and feel free to message us if you want us to recommend who's the best match for you.
